Hale Honu Hale Honu (Turtle House) is our place of refuge, and it can be yours as well. Situated on the Big Island of Hawaii just twenty miles South of Kailua-Kona, Hale Honu is surrounded by a lush tropical garden, and provides a breathtaking panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean, in a quiet and comfortable setting that is conducive to uplifting the light-of-heart and soothing the frazzled spirit.
The house front From this location you are minutes from the lovely Ho'okena Beach State Park for sunbathing and swimming with dolphins, or the famous Place of Refuge National Historic Park, a preservation of ancient Hawaiian culture.

Volcano Rainbow Also here at the Honaunau Inlet you will snorkel with an endless variety of tropical fish and sea turtles. A ninety minute drive south will bring you to Volcano National Park. Thirty minutes north are the shops and fine restaurants of Kailua.
Along the main highway north you will pass shops offering the island's best buys for Kona Coffee and Macadamia Nuts. A fruit stand offering organically grown fruits and vegetable is less than one mile north. The Kealia village store with necessities and movie rentals is a short walk to the South.

Master Bedroom Hale Honu includes two comfortable bedrooms. The master suite features a glass wall with an ocean view, king-size bed, full bath, and cable TV.

Guest Bedroom
The guest room is complemented by two three-quarter beds, and a second full bath serves the remainder of the house.

Living Room Additional sleeping possibilities are afforded by the queen-size sofa bed in the living room.


Need even more sleeping space? A comfortable, full-size futon in the family room is the solution. This inviting space features cable television with a VCR.

The spacious lanai affords a spectacular view of the coast line, while serving as a space to relax, to play, and as a dining area.

The well appointed kitchen is equipped with service for 12. Other features include dishwasher, micro-wave oven, Weber Grill, and full size washer and dryer.

Top Rental Information
Rental prices for up to eight guests (US Dollars).
Applicable Hawaii state taxes are not included:
  • Weekly - $950
  • Monthly - $3,300
  • Daily rates available for three day minimum stay
  • Rental rates are subject to change without notice
 
Terms:
50% of the rental amount is required to secure the reservation. The balance is due on week before check-in.

Check-in and checkout times:

Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. We are, however, flexible for bookings that are not back-to-back. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. We appreciate your cooperation as our house cleaning crew potentially has a short time window to complete their work prior to the arrival of our next guests.

Cancellation policy:

Deposits are refundable less a $10 processing fee up to 30 days prior to check-in. A cancellation fee of $200 is charged thereafter if the property cannot be rented to a third party.
