"Just wanted to drop you and your
family a line and say thanks for such a great dog. Reagan has been on dozens
of hikes with me so far and cannot get enough of it. She's very well tempered,
strong as a few oxen, loves the water (no matter waht the air temperature
is) and is already up to 70 pounds. I think that some days she may eat more
food than I do!
She even has her own dog pack now..., which I am hoping will come in handy
on some backpacking trips this summer. Thanks again."

Jeb, Jubal, and Jesse |
"Hard to believe that Jeb and Jubal
will be three years old soon and I finally have a good picture to send you.
They are such handsome boys, I know you and Zoe will be proud! Jeb has the
green collar, Jubal is blue, and Jesse (our rescue from the SPCA) has the
red collar. The boys are really enjoying the pool this summer - the first
year they hated it, but now we can't seem to get them out of it. They are
healthy and happy and a real joy. Jeb thinks he is lord of the manor and
has turned into quite the manipulator - Jeff still says he is the smartest
(and wiliest) dog he has ever known. Jubal is still the consummate puppy
and just wants to play - he is incredibly sweet and the most laid back of
the three, but quite the protector when the evil deer invade their turf.
It is still amazing to me that all three have completely different personalities".

"Hello Kings! We wanted to give you all an update on the great pup
we purchased a month ago. We named him "Augustus Crown of Curls Cleary" and
call him Augie. He's adjusted very well and is showered with love. Friends
and family are so impressed with his great temperament and intellect. He has
learned to ring a bell at the door when he needs to go outside and he survived
a five year old birthday party as well as many other family gatherings. We
are so happy with him that we have recommended your kennel to several friends.
Thank you for being a quality breeder!"

"I am sending some pictures of Hanna. She has the best personality
of any animal that we have ever known! She keeps us laughing. Kane treats
her like his little sister. We had to get a bigger dog house since she has
grown so much! We had 2 but they will only get in if they can both fit. So
we had to get a HUGE igloo so that they could both crawl in. It is too cute!
I have tried to get a picture of it but as soon as I open the door they run
out of it."

Burley, as in the Tabacco |
"Burley has just finished his six-week puppy pre-k program here
in Asheville. While I will admit I am prejudiced, I also have developed several
opinions about him in relation to other dogs:
There were three different kinds of retrievers at the school. Over time, Burley
showed the most intelligence, consistent obedience, and sweetest disposition.
The trainers started to use him to demonstrate skills.
Burley was great with both the people and the other dogs. The owners of the
small breed pups were much more likely to have their pups approach and interact
with Burley than any of the other big breed dogs".

Nothing dresses up the entrance to a home like
a Chessie on your doorstep. Monika and Chuck of MA wrote in 2002 that "Sable
is doing great. She love 'her new little brother', Adam whom we were blessed
with ... This will be a very special Christmas for all of us."
Then, in 2004, when baby Lucas joined the family, they wrote: "Sable loves
her family...she is such a good 'Mom'." |

This
little guy, right, closely resembled Dad from the start. Apachit went
to a loving family and avid hunting home. |
Gail and Tony of NC wrote in December 2004:
"Phoebe Zoe is such a joy!! She has graduated two obedience classes and
received her AKC Good Citizenship award. She guards our four cats and all the
cows ... She is a great dog and we love her dearly -- one trainer thinks she
would make an excellent therapy dog at one year of age. She does not ever leave
home. She likes to stay outside during the day. She has beautiful green eyes
[the turn amber by one year] and is such a sweet, sweet girl ... Thanks for
giving us such a wonderful addition to our family." |

"We have enjoyed watching Timber grow with the children. She is
very gentle with Logan who loves to give her great big hugs and kisses. However,
I don't think she realizes just how big she is and likes to get in your lap."

A male Chessie puppy at four months who has begun his field training, showing
athleticism and the love of sport for which the breed is well known. He has
gone on to pursue a career as a hunting and stud dog for a Chessie breeder
in Ohio.
|
Seabiscuit, known as "Pops" by his new Asheville, NC family,
fits his name well since, like the Biscuit, he was small among his peers,
but hardy and strong, and courageous nonetheless.
