Since 1969, Dr. Stone has maintained a private practice that has been exclusively limited to forensic clinical psychology.  The earning/granting of his ABPP Specialty Diplomate in Forensic Psychology occurred in 1987.  He is currently psychologist-licensed in only one state, West Virginia (#167); at the ended of 2003, after being licensed in Maryland (#934) for 27 years, he declined to renew due to his plans to reduce the extent of his psychology practice.  Several years ago he was granted his Certificate of Professional Qualification in Psychology (#13) by the Association of State & Provincial Psychology Boards.  He has held academic rank [up to and including being a tenured Full Professor] in a number of universities; and until recently, he was a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Dept. of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry in West Virginia University's School of Medicine.  Dr. Stone's most major subspecialties can be regarded as essentially being limited to two areas of activity: (1) a broad spectrum clinical psychology assessment of accused individuals involved in the criminal justice system and (2) psychological evaluations of individuals with respect to consideration of employment in positions of trust; i.e., for purposes of 'personnel security assessment.'  [Note - with respect to this last matter, Dr. Stone  was employed for the first 13 years as a very senior (i.e., GGD Grade 15, which is equivalent to an army 'full' colonel rank) clinical psychologist and the last 11 years as the Chief Research Psychologist in one of our Country's largest intelligence agencies.]

In December of 2002, Dr. Stone somewhat changed his professional activity priorities.  He has de-emphasized his forensic psychology involvement with criminal justice cases and is presently devoting much of his attention to further research development and commercial sales of his psychological assessment instruments, the Personnel Security Standards Psychological Questionnaire (i.e., the PSSPQ) and the Probity/Honesty Inventory (PHI).  Also, he has become increasingly involved in the development of an instrument that will greatly facilitate job analyses with attention to security level consideration matters.

Due to the increased world-wide interest in interrogation techniques, Dr. Stone has renewed his past interest in this area by again conducting research regarding the use of multi-tasking overload to significantly reduce the ability to effectively lie when being systematically interrograted.  This research effort is described in web pages whose address is: http://www.home.earthlink.net/~lastone2/interrogationconsultant.html.

Harpers Ferry (it's historic district depicted below) is only 55-60 miles from both Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD.  It's central location in the Mid Atlantic states gives easy access to Dr. Stone's forensic psychology services.

All of the subject titles (listed on the left side of this page) are direct links to web pages that greatly expand on the titled subjects.  At the present time, Dr. Stone's most major activities and interests focus on the Personnel Security Standards Psychological Questionnaire (PSSPQ), which is a psychological assessment instrument that produces information that accurately predicts whether an individual will be successful or not in eventually being granted a high-level security clearance, if that individual is to be processed for same by the Federal Government.

In prior years, approximately 85% of his forensic psychology efforts were directed towards psychological assessment of persons accused of criminal behaviors.  Another 10% involved assessment of persons who were being regarded by their U.S. Governmental agency or department as being some type of 'problem applicant for employment' or 'problem employee' and, as such, were facing detrimental personnel/security action.  The remaining 5% involved assessment of applicants for various types of employment in "positions of trust."

Since December of 2002, Dr. Stone has
ceased just about all of his forensic psychology activities except for the further development and commercial sales of the PSSPQ and related psychological assessment instruments.

Not counted in the above presented percentage figures is Dr. Stone's ongoing participation in conducting behavioral science research, in recent years mainly focused upon the forensic psychology area of study of traitorous behavior (i.e., those committing espionage, spies).  In this regard, he has a number of research publications.  It is widely believed that his 'spy database' is one of the most complete and it is fully quantified, thus allowing for complex statistical manipulation and analyses.  At last count, Dr. Stone has produced well over 225 articles, all in refereed behavioral science journals, as well as several books.

Note - a viewing of this Web Site Index Page, as well
as the other associated linked  pages, which have been constructed solely by Dr. Stone (no Web Page construction professionals were involved what-so-ever!) most likely clearly reveals his amateurism in such web page construction matters.  However, the main motivation on the part of Dr. Stone, in constructing these pages, was to have some fun and not to create a page that is overly professional in appearance in some rigid defined fashion.  Consequently, use of animated pictorials, as well as other 'cute little' gimmicks and cartoon figures, which have been liberally utilized, have been lots of fun.   One matter that Dr. Stone was wanting were Web pages that were well suited for being printed without wasteful use of ink when being printed by a viewer's printer.  Consequently, use of dark colored backgrounds was purposely avoided.
