Our Teachers

William F. Ermlick Jr., 82, died March 14, 2008.  Mr. Ermlick was an alumnus of California University, West Virginia University, the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State University. He began his teaching career as a social studies teacher at Monongahela High School where he subsequently became assistant principal.

Our gym teacher, Ruth E. Nevin, 89, died on her birthday, Jan. 16, 2008.  She was a 1940 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a B.S. degree in health and physical education and earned a master's of education degree in 1948 from the University of Pittsburgh. Ms Nevin retired after 35 years of service at Monongahela High School.
Anna Belle Sweeney Weddell, 92, of Monongahela, died Sept. 12, 2006.  She was a beloved French teacher and an inspiration to many. 
Mary Ann Pesognelli, 94, died Saturday, June 27, 2009. She was born on Feb. 22, 1915, in Monongahela, earned her teaching degree from California State Teachers College and taught school for 36 years; she started her teaching career at Mariana, then went on to Monongahela Junior High School.
