Imagine….
…awakening to birdsong in your treetop cottage perched on a hillside
overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. After a glass of fresh tropical fruit juice, you join the group for a yoga practice
as the ocean breezes blow through the open studio. Your 2-hour session will stretch and strengthen your body and nourish
your spirit. A delicious brunch awaits. Then it’s time to explore the lush jungles, mountains and waterfalls
of Dominica. You might also snorkel a coral reef teeming with colorful fish, pamper yourself with a spa treatment, take
a dip in the rock-lined swimming pool, or just relax by the sea.
Later in the day, your yoga continues with seated poses, restoratives
and yoga nidra. Dinner in the Jungle Pavilion overlooking the sea might be pumpkin-ginger soup, fresh lobster or vegetable
tagine, with locally-grown, organic ingredients. Participate in a Caribbean cooking demonstration or catch the tunes
of a local Dominican band. Bedtime in your rustic but luxurious cottage will set you dreaming of more.... Why
not join us?

Dominica
Dominica, known as “The Nature Island,” is a paradigm of ecotourism,
travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people.* Located in the
middle of the Caribbean island chain, and the size of four Washington, DCs, it is a land of volcanoes, 4500 feet high mountains,
lush tropical forests covering 2/3 of the island, waterfalls, and hot springs - all protected by an extensive national park
system. Its oceans are equally full of life, with coral reefs teeming with colorful fish and other marine life,
as well as rocky shores creating wonderful surfs.
The population of 70,000 people, which includes the only remaining island-dwelling Caribs, is scattered about in small
villages, accessible by winding mountain roads that circumvent and traverse the island.
While agriculture has traditionally been its major source of income, tourism is gradually increasing. The government, mindful of the perils of uncontrolled mass tourism, has made a conscientious effort to
become an ecotourism destination. As a result, Dominica
has received worldwide recognition as one of the world’s top ecotourism hotspots.
Come see for yourself!
