Once Removed is a site–specific event conceived by choreographer Elise Knudson and co-directed by artist Xienia Diente. We are collaborating with abstract/experimental puppeteers, Imagination Explotion and new music composer, Malina Rauchenfels.

This multi-dimensional performance work is a non-linear urban fairy tale that tells a coming of age story while continually redefining space. The event will begin in the Triangle gallery at the heart of the museum and migrate to the grounds outside the museum from where the audience will observe a spectacle within...

We are performing this one-time event at the Queens Museum of Art as part of its 2006 Dance in Queens Artist in Residence series on August 25th at 6:30pm.

Adopt a Dancer Campaign

Airelise is delighted to have received a stipend from the Queens Museum to produce 'Once Removed' and we are very grateful for a generous space grant from Body Language, a studio in Williamsburg.   BUT we currently have a deficit of $3300.00 for this project.

We have a fabulous team of dancers and artists devoting lots of sweat to this project. Please help make this performance possible by 'adopting' a

  • dancer,
  • composer,
  • puppeteer,
  • prop designer or'
  • 'behind the scenes helper'.

You can do this in a few easy steps by check or credit card.

All contributors will receive a

  • photograph of the artist you are supporting,
  • a hand written thank you note and
  • a special invitation to our dress rehearsal on August 24th, 2006!

Any amount is greatly appreciated by all of us!
