New Stuff added in 2006 - Updates from previous years are at the bottom of the page
12-18-2006 - Krang is an Atlantean warlord who has on many occasions attempted to seize the throne from Namor the Sub-Mariner. This is it for 2006, Happy Holidays and a great New Year! See ya in '07!
12-11-2006 - The Magus is the fearsome "father" of the New Mutants member Warlock. They are both members of the techno-organic race known as the Technarchy, capable of infecting other life forms with the transmode virus in order to consume them (though Warlock is much more peaceful than his sire).
12-04-2006 - As a mercenary for hire, Paladin mostly keeps it strictly business, even coming into conflict with superheroes. Occasionally though, especially if a woman is involved (i.e. the Wasp, Diamondback or Silver Sable), he will work for lower scale (or a date).

11-27-2006 - The ionic powered Count Nefaria (same energy source as Wonder Man or Goliath) is a frequent Avengers foe. He possesses the power of the Lethal Legion (Power Man I, Living Laser and Whirlwind) but magnified by his science a hundredfold, allowing him to go toe-to-toe with the likes of the mighty Thor.
11-20-2006 - The Ringmaster is the leader of the Circus of Crime. He's had many run-ins with the Hulk and even played a role in Doc Samson's efforts to combine the multiple personalities of the Hulk into one, the so called "Smart Hulk" (also known as the "Professor") incarnation.
11-12-2006 - Here's a World War II Captain America in his 1st costume. This was originally a Toybiz Silver Age Cap that I really liked, just needed shorter legs to be in scale with the 5" figures. I modded him the same way I did his modern era costume.
11-06-2006 - Fang is a member of the Shi'ar Imperial Guardsmen. He has lupine (wolf-like) traits and abilities. There have been a number of Fangs serving in the guard, for upon his or her death, a replacement drawn from their race and given the name and rank. I'm slowly working on making the rest of the guardsmen.
11-02-2006 - I recently bought two additional BAF (Build-a-figure) styled customs from artist Eagle, you can see them as well as the 1st giant sized figure I bought from him here. His ebay seller account is eaglelegends, be sure to also check out his Fwoosh gallery too, I'm sure you'll be amazed. Besides excellent painting and smooth sculpting, I was most impressed with the unique character choices, in a relatively short amount of time he's created a ton of old school heroes and villains and teams.

10-30-2006 - I felt an appropriate custom to show today on the eve of Halloween would be mass criminal-killer Scourge. He wears disguises and uses explosive bullets, as evidenced from the "Bar with No Name" massacre of 18 super villains from Captain America #319. For some great customs of Scourge's victims that day you just have to check out Adam Hammond's awesome CustomCon 15 "Marvel Who?" entry: Series 1, Series 2, Series 3 and Series 4.
10-22-2006 - With the completion of my Scarlet Centurion custom, I finally have the 4 Faces of Kang (would've made a nice boxset, no?) Though he's mostly plagued the Fantastic Four and Avengers throughout his career, in this identity he is primarily a foe of the Squadron Supreme.
10-17-2006 - Immortus is the ruler of the realm of Limbo. Formerly known as the pharaoh Ramma Tut, as well as the infamous Kang the Conqueror, he has taken the role of guardian of the time stream in his later years.
10-16-2006 - A little late for commenting on CustomCon 15, but I wanted to say that I certainly enjoyed the G.I. Joe Legends from Day 9 and the Cosmic Legends from Day 10 group entries, some very nice collaborative efforts from all involved. Thanks again to Joe Avecedo for once again running a great show! I'll show a new custom tomorrow that was supposed to be a part of my entry, but couldn't finish it in time to make the deadline.
10-11-2006 - My favorite customs from CustomCon day 6 was Dan Gates Black Canary figure from the Women of DC Universe Challenge group entry. A very memorable scene from the JLU cartoon brought to life.
10-04-2006 - For CustomCon Day 3 and Day 4 my favorites include Sillof's nice Daredevil entry, I have to single out his Owl custom as being particularly well done. I'd be happy if Hasbro made that Jean Grey Legacy set, really cute. Adam Hammond continues to astonish with his Marvel Who? series "Slaughter at the Bar with No Name." Again, I gotta say this is the greatest theme ever!
10-03-2006 - CustomCon Day 2 is up. My only entry, Marvel Universe Unfinished Business Series 8, is being shown today. I've spruced up my Fantastic Four section for the occasion, adding the new customs of the Awesome Android, Herald of Galactus Nova, the cunning Puppetmaster and the Red Ghost and his Super Apes. After the show, I'll be showing one more FF related custom here that I couldn't finish in time to make the deadline.

CustomCon 15 begins! This Fall's show is a big one, you'll be
getting 10 days of customs to feast your eyes on. I have a very
small entry of Fantastic Four related characters, I don't
know what day it'll appear but check it out when it does. If past
CustomCons are any indication, I never get to finish commenting on the
lines when I try to comment on everyone so I'll just mention a few
everyday, no disrespect intended to those I didn't get a chance to critique, there's
just no way I can talk about everyone's work, especially with the huge
increase in entries. I do look at everyone's lines and appreciate
the effort and imagination towards creating them. Thanks to Joe
for once again running another great show.
Day 1 standouts for me include - vintage styled Sigma Six G.I. JOEs (can't go wrong with retro homages - like the new Transformers Classics line), Marvel Who? for the great theme of Scourge victims and the great Princess Bride customs, really well done (but needs a Princess Buttercup). |

9-25-2006 - Tana Nile is a female Rigellian. She tried to lay claim to Earth as a new colony of Rigel but was stopped by Thor. In her 1st appearance she had a wider face, I've seen her with variable sized faces though, such as her recent appearances in the Annihilation prequel focusing on Ronan the Accuser.
9-18-2006 - The Colonizers of Rigel scour the galaxy seeking to add planets to their empire. Regardless of the native populace, the 1st Colonizer to lay claim to an unregistered world is its absolute ruler in the eyes of the Rigellians.
9-12-2006 - Rigellian Recorders are humanoid androids built by the alien Rigellians. The Recorders have massive storage capabilities and are able to gather huge amounts of data regarding a planet's suitability for colonization by the conquest-minded inhabitants of Rigel.
9-05-2006 - Hope you all had a good holiday weekend, for September I'll be showing a small assortment of aliens that were part of a bigger cosmic beings entry for CustomCon 15 that I couldn't finish in time. First up is Dr. Minerva, a scientist of the Kree Empire with powers similar to Ms. Marvel. Originally I had planned on making a Kree Sentinel as well, maybe sometime in the future.

8-29-2006 - Wanted to show a huge custom I bought from Ebay seller/customizer eaglelegends, here's Titan of the Shi'ar Imperial Guardsmen. I was hoping for some push to make the rest of the guard and this might just do it. This was a top-notch job and I highly recommend you check out his customs for sale, he's got an auction going for a killer Atlas of the Thunderbolts. If I hadn't already bought another custom Atlas recently I'd be all over this one, although it is mighty tempting!
8-28-2006 - Here's a rather obscure character, AFAIK only appearing in two issues of Moon Knight - Anarchy. She's a member of the group ULTIMATUM but instead of fighting Captain America, fought Moon Knight and the Punisher (and almost killed them) during the Acts of Vengeance storyline. Of course, the Punisher tries to return the favor the next time they meet but is stopped by Moon Knight.
8-21-2006 - The powerful but insane Graviton has mastery over gravitational forces. I should have shown him during CustomCon 14 where he was part of a number of different lines. BTW, CustomCon 15 is right around the corner, the deadline is 9-03-06 and the show will run from 10-2-06 thru 10-6-06. This one quickly snuck up on me, I had planned another cosmic line but there's no way I can make the deadline for that, I can show a small Fantastic Four themed entry with a couple of completed customs I had planned on showing here .
8-15-2006 - I've gone back and fixed up several older customs from the Avengers: Jocasta, Mockingbird, Moon Knight and Captain Marvel. I also have a better group picture of the New Warriors and updated looks for Firestar and Speedball. On a non-custom front, i also just got the Marvel Legends series 13 Blackheart (seen in the Supernaturals section) and Onslaught BAF, kudos to Toybiz for these insanely cool figures (and they're 5" scale compatible to boot)
8-09-2006 - Although I bought a Man-Wolf figure from the Marvel Legends compatible Spiderman line, I had to make one in the older 5" scale. He just married She-Hulk in her comic book, it'll certainly be an interesting honeymoon! If you haven't already, check out the series or get the three trade paperbacks, it's a great, fun read and I highly recommend it.

7-25-2006 - Just received this in the mail yesterday and had to show it, a custom Frost Giant (I'll consider him Ymir, the chief of the race) made by customizer Shinobitron (the link leads to his figurerealm.com gallery. Also, check out his Ebay auctions under his seller id k9megan486f). Such a superb job on the painting and sculpting, this really looks like it was carved from ice. Now my Thor section has Fire and Frost Giants!
7-24-2006 - I improved upon my Taskmaster custom by adding parts from the Marvel Legends Series 11 figure.
7-17-2006 - Been a little busy to update, I do have two new customs to show today, both from the pages of last year's Spider-Man: Breakout miniseries. Crossfire leads his crew (also known as the Mind Control Mafia, a group that includes the Corruptor), against the U-Foes in gang warfare, with Spider-Man caught in the middle. Each member of Crossfire's Crew has the ability to influence the thoughts and minds of others.

6-19-2006 - The Wrecking Crew would not be complete without Bulldozer! Though they are primarily foes of the mighty Thor, they've also fought plenty of superheroes - from the Avengers, Thunderbolts, even the teen Runaways and they've participated in the first Secret Wars.
6-12-2006 - Here's Piledriver, another member of the Wrecking Crew. That's 3 members completed from the supervillain team, one more to be shown next week.
6-05-2006 - Elsa Bloodstone inherited the title and role of monster and demon hunter from her late father Ulysses. I thought this was an appropriate custom to show on the eve of 06-06-06!
6-02-2006 - Over the Memorial Day weekend I finally had time to take new pictures of my Marvel 5" action figure collection. The newest addition is a side unit to hold my growing collection. Thanks to Frank from Eternal Collector for reminding me to update those pictures!

5-29-2006 - The explosive Nitro was the spark that set off Marvel's Civil War. I've wanted to make this Captain Marvel foe for a while now, the latest storyline certainly upped his q-rating.
5-21-2006 - I recently bought a great Atlas (from the team Thunderbolts) custom from customizer Quantum 7 on Ebay. He's about 7" tall so he works great with the 5" Marvels. Check out his auctions for some really cool stuff. He did a superb job, the painting and sculpting on this is truly impressive and I am very lucky to own it. I'm hoping to make the rest of the team soon, as the comic is one of my favorites.
5-15-2006 - After getting those neat customs from Great White, I had to make a new section of the site for Spider-Woman and her friends/foes. He's also inspired me to create two more foes for her - the sorceress Morgan La Faye and the Tatterdemalion, a member of the villainous group Night Shift. Though I've never read the original Spider-Woman comic, I am familiar with them from their entries in the official handbooks and always thought they were pretty cool. Much thanks again to Ricky Ross who has provided me with so many great customs over the years.
5-08-2006 - Today I have some very special customs to share from one of my favorite customizers, the incredibly talented Ricky Ross of Great White Custom Figures and Design. He had an amazing showing at CustomCon, with diverse entries featuring styles ranging from animated 4" to legends 6", but of course the standouts for me was the 5" Marvels, some of which I was very lucky to receive right before the show. Check out these amazing pieces: the Brothers Grim, the Enforcer, the Hangman, the Mandrill, the Needle, Nekra and a 1st appearance Spider-Woman from when she was a brainwashed Hydra agent known as Arachne! Indeed, most of these characters are from the Spider-Woman comic and they have inspired me to create two related customs which I will be showing next week. Ricky, I want to personally thank you for making these cool characters, your work has certainly helped me immensely towards trying to become a better customizer. You gotta check out his ebay auctions, he always has neat customs for sale, or shoot him an email at grtwhitecustoms@yahoo.com to request a commission, you won't be dissapointed!
5-02-2006 - Haven't had a chance to update the site lately, there's usually a lag in my output after a CustomCon, but I've been really busy with other things lately. Everything should be back on track now, here's a custom of the Avenger's cosmic foe, Korvac. He once annihilated nearly the entire team during the awesome Korvac Saga storyline. I was gonna include him in my entry but didn't finish him in time. Thanks to everyone who emailed me or commented on the message boards regarding my con entry, I really appreciate it!

4-09-2006 - Added a new front page image of the Cosmic Powers, really needs a Celestial to round out the group. Check it out at my main page. Just in time for Marvel's Annihilation series.
4-06-2006 - Added my new customs from my CustomCon 14 entry, "Marvel Universe: Unfinished Business Series 7." This was a line of Cosmic Powers (Infinity, Living Tribunal, Lord Chaos, Master Order, Eon and Ego the Living Planet), here's the group shot with recipes. Hope you all enjoyed it as well as the fine work from the other customizers seen so far. I'll have my thoughts on Day 4 and 5 tomorrow.
4-03-2006 - CustomCon 14 Day 1 one started off great, with some Marvel 5" scale representing! I was very impressed with everyone's work today. Here's some comments on the work shown so far (I will update the comments everyday, really enjoying what's been shown so far and amazed and inspired by all the hard work).

CustomCon 14 is on! It's running from April 3rd thru the 7th. As usual, I know there will be some great work from some very skilled customizers to check out. Look out for my line of 5" scaled customs, Marvel Universe Unfinished Business Series 7. I'll have a showing of six new customs. |

3-30-2006 - Did a quick fix of Dr. Strange, adding a tunic bottom and painting in the eyes to the original Toybiz figure. Also took a new group shot photo of the original Defenders using Marvel Legends stands to make the figures float.
3-26-2006 - Princess Python started her villainous career as one of the acts on the Circus of Crime. She later washed out as a member of the Serpent Society due to cowardice. Eventually I'd like to make the entire team of snake themed villains.
3-20-2006 - The Hawkeye that came from the old Toybiz Iron Man line was styled after the cartoon version, I tried to make more of an on-model version. The arrows that came with the figure really needed new arrowheads and feathers. I made the bow similar to the one that came with his Marvel Legends figure. That's all the Avengers customs for now.
3-12-2006 - Here's my 2nd attempt at Hellcat, a member of both the Avengers and Defenders. My first version of Hellcat was a bit too shiny.
3-06-2006 - My Yellowjacket (Pym) custom, that i made way back in 2003 really needed better wings, I finally figured out how to do it three years later! I also added the mini Yellowjacket figure (packed with the Marvel Legends Wonder Man) to simulate his transformation in size.

2-26-2006 - I made a Wonder Man custom from three different figures of the Avenger, he was originally a Toyfare mail-in exclusive and I gave him the belt that came with the Marvel Legends Series 11 figure as well as a new head from the Avengers animated toy line figure.
2-12-2006 - Here's the Black Panther in his modern costume, yes this is a direct rip of the Marvel Legends Series 11 figure in 5" scale form :)
2-06-2006 - Thunderball is a member of the Wrecker's Wrecking Crew. I'll be making the other members, Bulldozer and Piledriver as well. They've fought pretty much every super hero in the Marvel Universe but started out as Thor foes.

1-30-2006 - To keep the X-Men related theme that i have going for this month, here's a simple repaint of Nimrod. It is an advanced version of the Sentinels, robotic foes of the X-Men that are designed to capture or eliminate mutants. I've seen some really great customs of Nimrod, mine pales in comparison, it's at least a little more comic-accurate than the released figure. Gung Hay Fat Choy everyone!
1-23-2006 - Taking a cue from his Marvel Legends series 10 figure, i did a quickie paint and wing swap for Angel in his red costume. Though it's not entirely on-model to his old duds i figure it's close enough. I also updated my old Forge custom a bit (new boots and you can't see it but i gave him a ponytail) and I have a new group shot of the 90's X-Men team wearing team uniforms (Psylocke is a digital custom, i didn't feel the need to make one just for the shot, though they should have made her in the original box set, I also erased Wolverine's claws because they looked kinda lame, but otherwise I like this set)
1-16-2006 - With the release of Marvel Legends Series 10, I'm able to improve upon my Mr. Sinister custom, after borrowing the cape and shoulder pads.
1-03-2006 - Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a great holiday. Thanks again for visiting my site. I do have a few customs completed, and once again i'll try to show them once a week. I also plan on selling some extra figures (no 5" scale customs, sorry) here and on Ebay to recoup the costs of gift-giving, please check back and help me continue to feed my action figure addiction :)

Older Updates
2005 Updates - After a slow start to the year, I was able to get back into the customizing groove
2004 Updates - I had a pretty good output of new customs for that year
2003 Updates - This was the year I started making customs from the rest of the Marvel Universe
2002 Updates - My earliest work, back when I was doing only X-Men custom figures
