*TWICKENHAM-MILFORD CHAPTER AT HUNTSVILLE

June 2007

Twickenham-Milford chapter is on the rebound.  With no active members before Conclave of 2006, the chapter started to grow with the initiation of Alex Hood on July 15, 2006.  Hood was appointed Master Councilor by the Advisory Council on September 5th and two other members, Jimmy Hollingshead and Rusty London were initiated Sept. 24th.  Another member, David White joined December 3rd and on Feb. 18th, 2007 Taylor Jellicorse and Chris Roberts were added to the chapter.  Members from Harry C. Denton, Anniston and Mobile chapters helped Twickenham-Milford confer the degrees at these initiations and their help was greatly appreciated.

Coming on strong with service projects, the Twickenham-Milford chapter packed food boxes for Thanksgiving for the Huntsville Downtown Rescue Mission and built stair rails for the Scottish Rite dyslexia lending library in December.  In February the DeMolay moved more than twenty mature bushes that were blocking the view of traffic on Scottish Rite property.  In April the chapter purchased and presented an automated external defibrillator (AED) to their sponsoring body Scottish Rite, and also helped cook and serve barbeque chicken dinners for the annual Scottish Rite dyslexia fundraiser in April.  On Saturday, June 2, the DeMolay helped with a Scottish Rite Center clean up day inside the building.

Plenty of fun is going on besides the service projects.  Two trips to Montgomery to assist in initiations, a spaghetti dinner for parents, DeMolay Sunday, and getting ice cream together are a few T-M outings for fun.  A joint DeMolay-Rainbow Valentine Party was their first social event together, followed by an adrenaline pounding afternoon of paintball together in May where otherwise shy and retiring DeMolay and Rainbow alike became paint ball warriors.  The young men and women have supported each other by attending their installations.  Both organizations hope to continue to grow.
