The following are prayer requests and praises from our individual congregations as reported in the 1st Quarter '08 Pastoral Reports to the Bishop.

Prayer Requests

2008 1st Quarter Reports

Acts Fellowship Network:

Rio-Chambersburg

§     The children’s ministry at Rio-Chambersburg continues to grow.  Most of the children’s’ cells are done in English.  Two of the cells need to multiply and we do not have adults in the church that can lead and speak in English.  We had 50+ children ages 2-16 on April 29!

§     The Network is planning a baptism on June 1 for Rio-Chambersburg, Rio-Waynesboro, and Rio-Arendtsville at Caledonia.  Please pray for the candidates.

§     Replacing leaders that are being sent out in different church planting teams continues to be a challenge.

Rio-Waynesboro

§     A key individual in Rio-Waynesboro recently moved to New York City.

§     Pray for discernment on the right time to move to Fairview Avenue

§     Pray for protection of the Rio-Waynesboro group

Rio-Arendtsville

§     Pray for the 2 Rio-Arendtsville candidates for baptism.

§     Chebo and Clarissa and their team want to work where God is working.  They sense and see God working among the 8-15 year olds of Arendtsville.  Many of these youth are non-Hispanic.

§     The youth want to play soccer on grounds owned by Peace Light—and Peace Light would like to see that happen as well.  Pray that they will find favor with the neighbors who live near the field.

Air Hill:

§     Pray for guidance in hiring a Worship Arts Pastor

§     We will be beginning dual services soon.

§     Our new Youth Pastor, Jason Wenger, will be starting in May 2008.

Antrim:

§     Pray that God will enable us to sustain a heart for intercession.

§     Praise God for the new members who will be joining the congregation in June

§     Pray for congregation-wide daily intimacy with Christ in the Word and prayer.

Canoe Creek:

§     We’re growing with no room to expand.  We may need to move to a 2-service format.  Pray for guidance.

Fairview Avenue:

§     Our lead deacon, Paul Taylor, has received prayer and is trusting the Lord for the healing of a liver problem.  He was told that he would not live long without a transplant, but is choosing not to have one due to his age and the thousands of people awaiting a transplant.  His condition did improve following prayer.  Prayer that this will continue.

§     Many teens who enjoy skateboarding are finding a welcoming place and people at Fairview Avenue Church.  Some of them also attend youth group and worship services.  Pray that these teens will hunger to know more about the Lord and will accept Him as Lord of their lives.

Five Forks:

§     Pray that we will be able to reach out to visitors and seekers and help them get connected to the congregation and growing spiritually.

§     Pray that the ‘summer swoon’ will be slight.

§     Pray that we’ll know and do the Lord’s will as a congregation.

Iron Springs:

§     Pray for God’s guidance as we continue to consider ho to effectively reach out to the community as well as what to do with limited space.

Martinsburg:

§     Pray for our Vacation Bible School coming up in June.  We need to use it as an outreach.

Mt Rock:

§     A community prayer group led by Mt Rock has prayed several times at the Shippensburg University campus.  Because of the community’s desire to bless the students, an evening has been planned especially for the students to be able to worship and receive personal prayer specifically for them to break through and know God’s purpose and destiny for their lives.  Please be in prayer for this event.

§     Pray for momentum in the Holy Spirit to keep building

§     Pray too for a corporate worship night scheduled for July 20 at the Trojan Stadium in Chambersburg and revival it the Cumberland Valley.

Mt Tabor:

§     Pray for our mission trip in June.  It is the first trip for our church.

§     Pray for our ongoing outreach to our community and a heart to pray.

§     Pray for Dennis and Sherry—new folks who have started attending
