Jaks or Better is our senior stallion.
 
The story behind him was quite a mystery for many years but we have learned more about his past.  We found Jaks in Eastern Oregon and bought him without knowing anything of his heritage.  What a nice surprise did we discover!
 
Though some research and some folks reaching out to us, we learned a bit about Jaks history.  He was the first born from GoJak.   Diane Lang, owner of Gojak wrote to me about Jaks.   "We were very excited waiting to see what our stallions first babies would look like.  Jaks or Better was the first.  Joan Santos (trainer, judge, and good friend of Jack Bacon who raised Gojak) came to see him.   I remember her first comment 'what a produer Gojak is, he out produced himself with his first baby'".
 
Jaks was sold between 3 and 5 days old to Mike and Kim White and was trained along with OC Jak and R Cracker Jackie by Joan.  He was shown along the west coast until he was two or so... then he went to Fallon NV to be part of the White family.   Mike was a pilot for Flying Tigers.  I have spent years looking for his history and connected with Kim last year.   I learned that Jaks was trained to race.  He was an appaloosa race horse and did quite well   She and I will meet on May 5, 2011 to share stories about Jaks.  
 
He moved to Oregon in 1995 and I brought him home from there November 1, 2004. 
 
Jaks turned 30 years old January 2011, and he is looking great. 
 
Champions are his siblings in Whoa Jak, Mister Re, R Cracker Jackie,  and Jackie Jump Up.
