Some of our past friends and foals who have moved on to new places

This page is dedicated to the horses who once called Appy Trails home but are now with new families.  We miss each of you.

Firebird (barn name Chelsea) was our first born.  Bred for endurance with an appaloosa pedigree that goes beyond the ApHC. She came on a very rainey Superbowl Sunday in the middle of the afternoon and has been handled by everyone in the family since her birth.  We had her infancy, her toddler years and even the "teenage attitude" times"    She is so very special that it was hard to let her go, but Alison is already making us so proud of our Chelsea.   Update July 08, Alison is achieving her Parelli Level 3 Certification with Chelsea.  We are proud of both of them.

Below is MIA Mitakola Hemi.   2004 Colt

Hemi was born on Kolins Birthday.  Full brother to Chelsea, his name includes reference to his sire Mamin Iskitpe Apache (MIA) Mitakola for his native heritage, meaning my best friend and Hemi.

Born April 18, an Aris, which has the sign of the Ram.  Ram is the symbol for Dodge, and Dodge has power of the Hemi engine.  So Hemi.

Hemi was in southern Oregon and has since become best friend to his current owner at the coast.

2007 MIA BearPaw Hy Catch (shown on the right with her half sibling MIA Chubs Bimbo Gali) has been added to the IPAA/Foundation program for Maury Lawson.  We look forward to see what his full sibling of Anni produces

Dam to Mamin Glory Rising, MIA BuckWyatt Glory and MIA EV Talulah, Mornings Glory L left Appy Trails Ranch in 2008.  At the time, our intention was to geld Apache and go forward with Buck as our stallion.  Glory did not fit the program.  She has a very special owner in Molly Farkas.  But in 2011, she returned to us and we are hoping for a 2013 foal.   We are taking early pre purchase offers for the future RIZ/BUCK/OREO that will result from that breeding.

Originally sold to Ray & Irina Weese at the Wyoming Appaloosa Ranch, Kid is now at home in Switzerland while her colt resides in Fance.  We miss you, Droste Kid, but it seems fitting that you are in Europe, as your name reflects your breeders Dutch heritage.

2003 MIA Bearpaw AU Anni (above) was very special to us.  Her name AU the symbol for gold, Anni, born on the 50th wedding anniversary she was from our first year and very special.  We took Anni to shows, parades and just out on the trail with us.  She is now is Spain.

2006 Mamin Glory Rising (left) was selected to be donated to the Nez Perce tribe and has been added back to the Nez Perce Horse breeding program.  Riz is introduced in the "Song of the Horse Nation" exhibition breed area video on the Nez Perce horse and though him, the bloodline of Appy Trails Ranch will be in the Nez Perce Horse.

2008 MIA EV Talulah we called Oreo.  She is perfection; an outstanding example of the personality and confirmation we achieve with her sire, Mamin Iskitpe Apache.  She is curious and friendly, she would crawl into your lap if it were big enough.  Of her full siblings, she is the only one that is not a leopard but she has strong leopard pattern genes from both her sire and dam.    Her blood is almost 60% traceback to the original 4932 F# horses of the ApHC registry.  Her big brother Riz has been added as a foundation stallion for the Nez Perce Horse Registry and her other brother, Buck will remain as the go forward stallion for Appy Trails Ranch.  Oreo is in Spain with her half sister AU Anni.
