2.1 A Cased Yacht Ship Model sailing on a navy sea stationed within a decorative shadowbox. Shadowbox or diorama ship models were popular sailor's folk art during the 19th & early 20th centuries in America and England. This two-masted schooner model set in navy blue plaster or clay sea, with light blue background. Model appears complete with canvas sails, browned with age, and red and black hull. This is a complete model, not a half-hull model. Some deck detail including: wheel, sidelights, deckhouse, two lifeboats, anchor and static winch. Vessel name not identified, origin and age unknown, probably 20thC. Model condition good, no sign of damages or repairs. Overall dimensions: Width: 28" Height: 24" Depth: 5-3/4" Wt: 19lbs. Frame might be mahogany with gold trim; with age crackalure and minor losses to gold trim surface. Overall good as found condition with some expected minor wear to frame side, glass fine. Overall a pleasing model. POR
2.2 Vintage Yacht Half Hull modeled from pine with honey-colored patina to deck/hull and below waterline painted hull with old white lead crackled finish, circa prewar. Model's former residence Cape Cod with overall size including backboard 24" Length X 11-1/2" Height. Condition good as found with some expected wear, couple minor rubs and paint loss/chips along joint between keel and hull, slight contour to backboard. POR
2.3 Unique Ship Builder's Half Hull Model executed in 8 lifts with original white surface to pilot house, deck, etc., and possibly a period rendering of a Cutter. Apparently, unusual to find a half model of a cutter rather than a sailing vessel. Model probably not antique, likely from 50/60s. Model condition good as found with remarkably little expected wear. Model size: 31" Length; Overall size including backboard: 38" Length X 11" Height X 4-3/4" Depth. POR
