The Mystical Fine Art of Georgia Sanford

"I stand in awe of the divine, which I sense permeating the physical universe and the physical body. I see a spiritual quest in the whole range of human experience, sadness and death as well as joy and sensuality. For me the formal elements of a painting are a means to the end of expressing ideas and emotions. The figure is central to my work, and precise anatomy is a primary means of conveying the meaning of a painting. Drawings of the head and the nude are also an end in themselves. I find the variety of the human figure endlessly fascinating. To me the body truly is the temple of the spirit. I see each person, of any age or condition, as a potential god or goddess whose face and anatomy manifest an inner journey & spiritual destiny."
