We're not in Kansas anymore...     55 miles across the OK panhandle, no man's land, and into the TX panhandle.  Suddenly there are mesquite, yucca, canyons, prairie land, etc.  We saw the Cadillac Ranch along I-40!  Palo Duro Canyon is picturesque where erosion shapes the land, cultures have met and clashed, and ranches all around.  The Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum offers three floors of exhibits in a 1932 CCC (The Civilian Conservation Corps is evident all over the USA!) building.  Off to Lubbock in the morning and then a week of Flying J's until we get to MS.
