We’ve keep up our correspondence with most of you but would like to send you this newsletter in case we missed you
along the way. Here it is April already; where has the time gone? It will be really easy to give you an update on Paul: he
has been working full-time as an RV repair technician at RV World of Nokomis; his days are very busy servicing and repairing
RVs as he puts into practice what he learned in school (at the RV Service Academy) in the fall. Every other Saturday when
he has a day off Paul takes care of our home and tries to relax. We’ve only seen three movies in all of 2006...
Regina on the other hand has been partaking of the many activities here at Royal Coachmen Encore RV Resort (RCR): bingo
three nights a week (with a few games won here and there), Mexican dominoes, bocce, table tennis, and crafts. Most exciting
is that Regina has learned to crochet and is enjoying an active Red Hat group. She even found time to enter the Charlotte
County Senior Olympics and win a few medals in table tennis and track and field events (shot, discus, 100 meter, and 200 meter).
Regina also volunteers in the library and post office here in the park; as the season winds down she’s helping out at
the Easter Egg Hunt, too. Every now and then she gets a call from Saint Stephen’s School and subs at the middle school
which seems just like home.
This location in Nokomis, FL is very handy: we’ve been up to Tampa to visit with niece Jennifer and taken a few trips
over to Palm Beach to visit moms and siblings. Regina drove to Tampa to meet Patty when she was grading the state Spanish
tests. Paul even took a Friday off work so we could drive to Daytona Beach for The Good Sam Club RV Rally: we stayed at a
motel and drove to the Speedway for three days of seminars, exhibits, and shows. Best of all was meeting up with Ginny and
Ron (friends from our first years on the road) and the Marshalls and Nobles, two couples we met here at RCR and plan to share
many more rallies.
We have two more months here in Nokomis then we’ll spend a week in Palm Beach, a week in Tallahassee, and then head
to Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska for the summer. We’re sad that with Paul working and staying here so late
into the year that we have missed several important weddings and special events in other parts of the US; we are mobile but
don’t get moving very easily.
Hope you are well and happy. We hope to see you soon.
