Treenware

Treening began in rural Mississippi where I was born. My Dad taught me how to whittle when I was nine years old. At first, slingshots were the objects carved for the boys in my neighborhood.
Formal art study was at the University of Mississippi and Mississippi University for Women. There, I explored a wide range of media. There, I came to realize the handcrafted art of treening was virtually lost. I have been breathing my life an breath into its true form of survival one individual piece at a time.
From my hands to your heart.
