Rosters
Each Team Roster will contain a minimum of 18 and a maximum of 22
players and or defenses. From this team roster you will pick your starting lineup each week.
Each season's Rosters will be acquired through the preseason Auction draft -combined with any declared protected
players from the previous year's roster. You must acquire the minimum of 18 players/defenses from the
preseason Auction and combined protected players -however you are NOT required to acquire the maximum of 22 players/defenses
during the preseason Auction and combined protected players. During the Auction you will be required to keep
enough cash in reserve to fill out your roster to the minimum level of 18 players (with $1 being the minimum bid).
Once an owner has acquired the rights to 22 players/defenses his Auction Participation is over.
There will be a limited number of free agent player moves during the regular season on the
yahoo league website. In addition, trades will be subject to league vote. Therefore it would
be best to acquire as many players/defense through the preseason Auction as possible. The above limits
are intended to make the AUCTION the primary source and focus for player acquisition and team success.
The regular season begins just after the Auction ends.
There will be a salary cap system used during the Auction ($200), but it will not be applied during the regular
season. The salary cap is only used to limit the Auction bids of each owner.
The deadline for declaring protected players is 6pm CST of July 23rd. Each returning roster will
be allowed to protect a maximum of 3 players/defenses.
The Auction salary cap will be reduced for each team based on the total cost of any player/defenses protected. An
owner may choose to protect 3, 2, 1, or 0 players/defenses from his previous year's roster. See more details on this
in the Auction section -click link on left...
After the Auction draft each season, the commish will transfer the resulting rosters to a free Yahoo fantasy football
website. From that moment until the end of the Fantasy Football Championship game -all roster moves will be regulated
and maintained by the yahoo website, and we will follow the rules applied by that service.
All rosters will be frozen after the Fantasy Championship Game and will not be opened until the next preseason when
protected players/defenses are declared. This is mainly to give the Commish some down time.
This league will NOT use any Injured Reserve system for holding injured players. It is not part of the free yahoo
fantasy football service, and in my experience creates far too much confusion for both owners and commissioners. Allowing
a massive roster of 22 players/defenses should give any owner wishing to maintain the rights to an injured superstar -plenty
of space to hold the star and pick up a replacement.
