I can not update if you don't send in your Baja!!!
This Baja has every thing that you would need for fun off road. The sad thing is this Baja is a show car and spends it's life in the garage. It has clamp on coil overs on the front shocks to compensate for sagging torsion bars. This is not the way to go for hard off road use. If you are looking for ideas this car has them.
Now this Baja is another fine car. This was a race car in it's former life and has a lot of great off road tricks already built in. You can see how the cage is welded to the upper window support. If you plan on doing it right this is the way to go. This car will be a lot of fun at the dunes or hopping the trails with the open top. Only bad point, is that it would be a poor daily driver with that open top.
This car might look nice, but it's just a pretty show car nothing more. You have a very expensive paint job on it, can we say fear of desert pin striping? Dark paint jobs are harder to see in the dust than a bright paint job. Dings and dents will show up with this kind of paint making your car look more beat up than it is. The rear bumper was moved up with a thin piece of S shaped tubing to clear dual carbs. The bumpers are not part of the cage.
This Baja is set up for some real off road fun. The cage runs from the front beam to the back of the car. Skid plates on the front. Rack for storage. Bright blue paint. IRS transaxle with duel shocks and heavy duty trailing arms. I would enjoy taking this Baja out for a small romp. This one is well done and a good one to look at for tips on doing your own Baja.
N o w this Baja has about every thing any one could ever want. The suspension is just outstanding and that's what you would expect for an off road race car. The roll cage is a work of art. I would love to take this Baja out for a spin, as I bet most of the rest of you would too. The sad thing this is still just a show car.
I really like this blue Oval window Baja. I can see the purist pulling hair right now, but hay, to bad for them. This is a clean little Baja. NOTE: 3rd brake light over llicense plate. This is just a great looking Baja.
This Type III square back has a great Baja look. It can use a little more protection up front like skid plates and some bumpers. Good use of ruber fender welt over the tires. If your into camping, this has the room you need.
This is a great looking rag top. If your not into heavy off roading, this Baja would work for you. It can be just as fun hitting the sand or going to 7-11. Don't forget that Convertables, Rag Tops and Sun Roofs weaken the body of your Baja. The simple paint job looks real sharp.
Here is a nice street Baja. The 4 tip muffler just kills the Baja look. A few trips off road will remove it in no time FLAT.
The VW Thing is another good choice for an off road car. 4 doors and great off road looks. If your into off roading never pass up a chance to place a Thing into you car port. I love the Camo paint. Even if it makes it hard to see.

I think this Baja is real nice. Great use of Diamond Plate for the dash board, Kick Panels etc. This in not a rainy day Baja, If you do not like getting wet. This is more a rail type car with a VW body added on for looks.
This Baja would be a great starter car. Most of the work has been done. All that is left is tires and a lift. Don't pass something like this up.
Great spot for your KC lights. The simple graphics on this car help improve the looks.
Another person with a 2.3 OHC Ford for power. This Baja sports a VW light bar for its KC lights. I like the tail lights under the rear wing of the car, up high and out of the way.
This little yellow Baja has your classic Baja kit. Don't drill holes in top of your Baja for your KC lights. Your looking at leaks and possible roof damage if you hook one on a tree.
Roof scoops look sharp, But it's another tree snag. Don't forget about it as you drive under trees.
Talk about a role cage. Take a look at the Transaxle. He used black electrical tape on the half shafts.
This Baja is used off road all the time. A simple paint job makes for a nice look. Roof Racks come in handy on most off road trips.
Can we say Ugly? Built for one purpose hard off road use. Who cares about looks. He needs to get bigger tires out back. Were do you store your High Lift Jack?
You do not need to paint your car to have fun. Looks aren't every thing.
A little paint will do wonders. This car has almost the same kit as the one above. If you don't like the long trips in your Baja you can tow it.
Taking your headlights out of your front fenders will help prevent fender cracks. You don't have to put a stinger on your Baja. This is a nice little engine.
