  5th Annual Trail of Tears Re-enactment Walk and Indian Social
Novembr 1, 2008 at 9:00 am central on the lawrencbeurg Public Sqare
With the walk starting at 10:00. Then there will be an Indian Social afterward at the Lawrenceburg Utility System. Bring a covered dish to share.
    Our Drum will be Little Corn the Ancestors Drum and are flag carriers will be some members of the Tennessee Native Veteran's Society. The Tennessee Chapter Trail of Tears Association will walk with us and hold their members meeting after lunch.

            2008 Trail of Tears Events

Trail of Tears Remembrance Association Ride

September 20, 2008 the Trail of Tears Remembrance Association Ride. The Motorcycles will travel from Chattanooga to Florence Alabama following the Drane Hood Route to Jasper then they will follow the Bell’s Route over Monteagle and travel Highway 41 to Highway 64 at Winchester. There they will follow Highway 64 West to Fayetteville where there will be a stop at the Lincoln County Fair ground for rest, food and entertainment put together by Debbie Capino and Vicky Garland. The drum will be ‘Southern Echo’. From there they will travel 64 to Pulaski and on the west side of Pulaski they will be following Bell and Benge’s route for a little while and then they will be on the Bell’s route until Lawrenceburg Tennessee where they will turn South on Highway 43 to Florence Alabama ending at McFarland Park.

 At Fayetteville in the Indian Area there will be vendors, dancers and the Drum ‘Southern Echo’ we have Cathy’s Fry Bread, Red Tail Forge Works, Ape Hangers Apparels, Flint Knapper Robert Metcalf,Garner's Garden and others.

4th Annual Trail of Tears Re-enactment Walk

   The next journey is on October 25, 2008 in Fayetteville Tennessee.  Join Shattuck and Friends on Saturday October 25, 2008. For the 4th Annual Trail of Tears Re-enactment walk,

future events will be held annually on the last Saturday in October. 5th Annual Trail of Tears Re-enactment Walk

On November 1, 2008 in Lawrenceburg Tennessee is the 5th

Annual Trail of Tears Re-enactment walk and Social on the Public Square at 10:00 central time. Our drum is ‘Little Corn’ the Ancestor’s Drum, and our flag carriers are members of the Tennessee Native Veterans Society after the walk we will be having an Indian Social at the Lawrenceburg Utility System with Cathy’s Fry bread. Come out and walk with us to honor all the tribes removed from their homelands. After lunch the Tennessee Chapter Trail of Tears Association will be having there Fall meeting before adjourning and listening to the drum. Bring a Covered Dish to Share.

 Bell and Benge’s Memorial Motorcycle Ride

                    and Re-enactment walk

 

     The next will be the Bell and Benge’s Memorial Motorcycle Ride and Re-enactment walk. It will be in Pulaski Tennessee at the Sam Davis Football Stadium by the Interpretive Center on Highway 64 on November 8, 2008. This is the 5th Annual Ride and the 2nd walk. The motorcycles will arrive at about 11:00 and those wanting too, will walk with us. The walk will start at 11:30 and we will walk from the Stadium where there will be vendors to the overlook where both routes crossed, the Drum ‘Southern Echo’ will do an Honor song there at the overlook and then return to the stadium for lunch.

When you register for the motorcycle ride you will draw a name from an envelope. The name of the Head of Family who walked the Benge’s Route will be on it. You will be riding in memory of that Family Group.

This event costs   $15.00, which will include lunch and The Trail of Tears Patch.
Lunch begins at about 12:00 when the walkers return.

There will be vendors, and the Drum ‘Southern Echo’ we have Cathy’s Fry Bread, Red Tail Forge Works, Ape Hangers Apparels, Flint Knapper Robert Metcalf, Garner's Garden and others.
