Scylab's environment sensor Feelix® enables blind and severely visually impaired people to do what sighted people take for granted: find their way around in their surroundings.

On the basis of the principle of replacing the sense of sight by that of touch, feelix® uses sensors to detect objects and open spaces located at distances of between 20 centimetres and three metres. It then transmits information to the user about the position, location and contours of the objects around him.
