We met 8 years ago and have been married for the past 6 years. We have a truly happy marriage based on friendship, love, trust, and lots of laughter. We enjoy many of the same things -- reading, listening to music, going to movies, tide-pooling at the ocean, traveling, camping in the Redwoods with our families, exploring a local park with our nieces and nephews, or simply spending a quiet afternoon relaxing at home. We have both had Christian upbringings and plan to share our values with our child. We are college graduates and work in the accounting field. We have great jobs, with flexible work schedules, which means that we can take time off or work part-time so we can always put the needs of our baby first.

We look forward to...

• Playing on the slides and swings at the park nearby.
• Reading Dr. Seuss and Sesame Street stories together.
• Creating great works of art with gooey fingerpaints.
• Playing hide’n seek all over the house.

We are also ready for the tougher challenges too, like late night feedings, putting a bandage on a scraped knee, helping with homework and teaching our child how to drive a car.

Bert ... is a graduate of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in New York, and while serving as a navigation and cargo officer in the Navy, he enjoyed traveling all over the world. He also was an Eagle Scout while growing up and played the trombone in the Academy marching band. "When I see how much our nieces and nephews love playing with Bert, I know he’ll make a great dad. (I also think he loves to play with their toys as much as they do!) He is an easy-going kind of guy who is very patient and thoughtful, and I know he will always put our child before anything else". - Maryanne

Maryanne - enjoys cooking and baking, especially the melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookies that she’s made since she was a little girl. She has always been an avid reader and has saved many of her books from childhood to read to our child. "Maryanne is a very loving and caring person who always puts the needs of her family and friends before her own. She is really just a kid at heart who enjoys coloring books and roller skating through the neighborhood. Our nieces and nephews love all the attention she gives them.
