Buns "N" Beds is our family run business. We turned this mountain cabin style building into a restaurant and deli several years ago. The restaurant and cabins were built in 1938 and were considered the first modern cabins in Cooke City. Today two of the cabins have a microwave and refrigerator, and the third has a kitchenette. In the past the restaurant has been a rock shop, barber shop, and gift shop.
Cooke City was founded by prospectors in the 1800's. The land originally was Crow territory. Today Cooke City is a quaint mountain town catering to tourists. We are located between the Beartooth Highway (212) and Yellowstone National Park. The drive over highway 212 is breathtaking. It is one of the most beautiful scenic highways in America. Cooke City is approximately 4 miles from the northeast entrance of Yellowstone National Park. There are many outdoor activities to enjoy in and out of the park; fishing, hiking, camping, picnicking, snowmobiling, ATVing, wildlife watching, photography, whitewater rafting, golfing, etc. When planing a picnic, we make delicious lunches to go. We also cater for groups of 50 to 75, and sell lunch meats and cheeses sliced to order 1/2 to 1 pound. We are one, of a few establishments in Cooke City, that stays open all year.
