Bird Owner - Pilot - Air Show/ Promoter Biography
Kent G. Carlomagno's love for aviation has been since he was a young child of five cruising in the baggage compartment of an Ercoupe standing over the controls between his Dad and best friend. Kent soloed at 16 and waited until thirty-one to get his pilot's license. After attending the Reno Air Races in 1976 and Madera Air Show in 1983, he became obsessed with the quest of possible ownership and flying of World War II aircraft. His first aircraft was an X-P.Q.-13 or military designed Ercoupe painted in the silver with red, white and blue stars and stripes. He flew this to and in air shows from 1988-1994.
He was in a T-28 partnership from 1992-1994
from which he was bought out of after an engine loss and bought his first real War Bird in 1994, "a
beautiful NA-50". In 1997, he bought a rare French designed P51-A replica ¾ scale, powered by a
Ford engine and flew it in airshows in 1999 . In 2001, he bought a third rare aircraft, his YAK-11 "BLYAK
MOOSE" and is currently flying it. He has a contagious enthusiasm and passion about flying these
precious, one of a kind aircraft. He currently lives in San Rafael, CA and, as a Doctor of Chiropractic,
owns and operates the Summit Health and Longevity
Center there. He is available for Airshows, Static, Fly-bys and formation flying. Please look
at his updated 2009 schedule for info on which shows he'll be attending. Affiliations: In 2005 he became editor and publisher of "The Yakovlev Fighter Pilots Assn" which is instrumental in providing history on past Eastern Bloc Aircraft and those currently being restored or flying in the aviation community thruout the world and to educate the general public. In 2007, he began working with the Petaluma American Legion and partner Steven Kemmerle to develop an annual fly over to salute to the armed services on Veterans day using historic, antique aircraft. The event has grown incrementally since its inception and is now the largest Veterans Day parade in the North Bay. Dr. Kent G. Carlomagno is a current 3 year member of the I.C.A.S (International Council of Air Shows) , Experimental AIrcraft Assn Warbirds of America and North American Trainers Assn where he hosts a quarterly column entitled "Fit to Fly" which addresses many of the health related issues facing aging pilots. He has put on 3 air shows in
Petaluma, California in 1997,1998 and 2007. The 1998 event had 35 unique, one-of-a-kind aircraft
which flew for the crowd of over 5,500 during the three day show and it was a successful event
despite inclement weather. He has flown over 85 different makes and models of aircraft.
