About Us. Silk Strings is a koto duo renowned for performing a wide range of genre on Koto and other traditional Japanese instruments. They are regularly invited to perform in many cultural events in the Northwest, as well as private events. They enjoy performing traditional and contemporary koto music including many composed by Shiho Kurauchi. Silk Strings members also teach students of various levels.
