I write because I want to share moments in life that touch my heart - insight, inspiration and enlightenment are qualities that bring hope. I am convinced that we mortals recognise the heights of bliss as well as the depths of pain,  and this is what we attempt to communicate through our individual art form, in the hope of meeting the core of other human beings. Our most hearfelt feelings are sacred, individual and at the same time - collective.

With the purchase of a computer in 1991, I began to write. The computer has become a  treasured 'friend' over the years, and I am immersed in a soothingly timeless place of pure expression. Writing is my meditation, it also brings me great comfort when the world  around me becomes a little harsh. Perhaps it is an escape - if that is true, I have come to the conclusion that it is a healthy escape.

I would like to acknowledge my Great grandfather, Rev. Sabine Baring-Gould, a man of courage and determination who traveled throughout Europe while writing numerous books and hymns including 'Onward Christian Soldiers'. He lived with his growing family and did most of his writing in his famous home, Lew Trenchard Manor (which is now a country house hotel).

Sabine met his beautiful red haired wife Grace, my great grandmother in the North of England - their then, unconventional marriage inspired Bernard Shaw, a friend of Sabine, to base his story Pygmalian on their marriage.
