ABOUT TBMS
Turtle Bay Music School, the only music school on Manhattan's Midtown Eastside, offers a broad range of musical instruction in all instruments to students of all ages on all levels. TBMS was founded in 1925 with an enrollment of 6 students. Celebrating its 75th anniversary in the year 2000. TBMS has provided musical instruction for thousands of music lovers. TBMS offers private & partner instruction, workshops and classes. A conveniet location, extended evening and weekend hours, as well as many musical activities, events, and services contribute to the school's place as a vital music center in Manhattan's midtown business area. TBMS's community outreach program is extensive, providing musical instruction to over 1,500 students in public schools, pre-schools and day-care centers throughout New York City. Each year, students and faculty perform at senior citizens, public schools, and in New York Hospital's Burn Center and AIDS Ward. The Margules Music Program offers music theraphy and music instruction to at-risk teenagers.
