The Nazi Super-Men

The New York sky was lit up by the sight of the Human Torch flying over rooftops. Also a faint "Hey, wait up!" could be heard. It turned out to be Toro yelling, "Torch, wait! Come on, I can't fly that fast!"

"Hurry up! Cap said we gotta be there A.S.A.P. In other words, hurry!" Torch yelled back. He slowed down a little so Toro could catch up, then turned through the tall sky-scrapers towards the Invaders' base, for the moment at least. Since the Liberty Legion was away on a mission, the Invaders used their building, with the permission of Bruce Dickson, of course.

"What took you guys?" Bucky asked the minute they flew in.

"Uh, sorry," Torch said.

"Well," Cap said. "Now that everyone's here we can get started.

As most of you know, the Germans are trying to create more super soldiers and..." Cap was cut off by Namor.

"So, it's just more nazi jerks playing dress up," Namor laughed.

"Uh, no. They might actually be on to something. Some of our spies have uncovered that they have been able to give a man super strength for a short time. Disposable Super-men."

As soon as Cap said this, the mouths of Bucky and Toro dropped open, Namor and Torch looked at each other wide eyed, then all at the same time they said, "What?!?"

Cap added, "They're going to be sent to the British lines in 24 hrs. That's about it, folks. Any questions?"

15 minutes later they were already on their way to the front. Torch and Toro were flying along side Namor's flagship as it raced through the sky. The front was still a 3 hr. journey, even though the flagship traveled faster than the speed of sound.

After about an hour and a half the Torch flew back in the fast moving ship. Shortly after that, Toro flew in. The two sat down and chatted about what the fight would be like. Bucky, on the other hand, paced back and forth on the hard steel floor. Cap was leaning against the wall and Namor was piloting the ship. In a short time they would reach their destination, the front.

The flagship zipped past British ground units and finally came to a stop inside a camp just behind the front. They were welcomed by many officers from the camp, but they were looking for a certain person, "Hey, Sarge!" Toro said trying to get the sergeant's attention.

"Over here! Follow me," the sergeant said back. They followed the sergeant back to his office somewhere inside the main building. "I take it you've filled them in on what's going on?"

"Yes, I did," Cap nodded.

"All right, then you already know about the nazi super-men, correct?"

"Yes," Namor replied.

"Good, then you probably don't know this. The nazis aren't waiting to deploy those super-men."

Bucky looked at Cap, then at the Sarge, then back at Cap, "Oh, man."
