Gejer

Frederick William Gejer was my maternal grandfather. He married Agnes May Sudlow. He died when my mother was a teenager, so I never had the privilege of meeting him. I have been told by everyone who knew him that he was a wonderful man.

My great-great grandfather, Peter Adrian Gejer, was the first in this family to come to America from the Netherlands. He met and married my great-great grandmother (from Germany), Susannah Dorothea Hopfensack ("Dora"), in New York City.

Gejer (pronounced "Guy-er") is an unusual spelling and I have not found but one other family in America who uses this spelling. I have information on one other family in Holland I have found who might be related to Peter. I will post their information soon.

My great-grandfather, George Stephen Roland Gejer, married Annie Emmerich (sometimes found as "Emorick"). The next report shows the descendants of her father Charles. (There will be some duplication with the above report as far as the Gejer family goes.)
