AMF-S14F Maranda Plans-Built Airplane
For Sale
|
$US 20,000 Own a bit of History OK, maybe that's a bit of a stretch, but the Maranda is a classic amateur-built (experimental) aircraft, originally constructed in 1966 and restored in 1990. Featured in the book Wings of the North, by Dick Turner, this airplane has been from the frozen North to sub-tropical Texas and is now available for sale to a good home. Since we completed the Rocket, the Maranda just doesn't get used as much as it used to. We're going to miss the smell of fresh cut fields through the open window, but it probably makes sense to sell it to someone who would appreciate it and give it more regular exercise. Note that this is a Canadian registered aircraft, which is currently located in the Houston area. If you live in Canada and are interested in this airplane, come down and have a look. If you buy it, I'll reimburse your airfare. If you live in the U.S. and are interested in this airplane, you will need to re-register it as a U.S. experimental aircraft. I have never done this, but am told that it is just a matter of filling out the form and sending the fee. Of course, you would also need to change the registration marks. These are decals and may or may not pull off without damaging the fabric underneath (I have never tried to pull them off). Here are the specs: |
