Doug is a 3rd generation German/American born in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. He attended Wall High and graduated
in 1981. http://wallhighclass81.com Doug attended college, but was aggresively asked to leave in 1982. Thanks guys! Finally, he was recruited
into the Air Force in 1983 and spent the next 10 years between Germany and the US. He met and married Susi in 1985.
They celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary July 19, 2004. Doug donated another 5 years to the Air Force Reserve
until they had enough of him and showed him the door in 2000. Meanwhile, Doug finally finished two college degrees in
the 1990's and is starting his MBA. Doug is currently a civilian government employee at USAFE HQ, Ramstein, Germany.
Susi was born in Hofheim am Taunus, Germany, just northwest of Frankfurt. Her family moved to the Hunsrueck area near
Hahn Air Base early in her life. She grew up around American families and had an opportunity to learn English. She met
Doug in 1984. The two were married in Kirchberg in 1985. They moved to Fort Walton Beach, Florida for
the next three years where Susi went to college. In 1988 they returned to Germany for three years. Susi
was a tour guide throughout Europe for the American military community and worked in a factory some of the time while Doug
was away in the gulf... they were moved back to the US and after a few years in Sumter, South Carolina, they decided
to try life without the military and moved to NJ. In 1995 they bought their first house in the Shark River Hills section
of Neptune, New Jersey. In 1996, Theannah was born in Trenton, NJ followed by Wrenna in 1998. Wrenna was a happy
home birth! They decided they had had enough of New Jersey, its taxes, its traffic, its politics--and moved
to West Virginia. There, they bought two houses (His and Hers) in www.clarksburg.com. Theannah turned school age and started by home schooling, later they both went to a private catholic school,
St. Mary's, practically next door to their home, for a short while. In 2002/3, they once again moved back
to Germany for an extended vacation as Doug played federal contractor, but will eventually move back to West-by-God-Virginia.
While in Germany, the kids are taking advantage of the chance to learn the language and customs of Susi's homeland while visiting
the local school system; Doug will perfect his German language skills; and Susi will complete her training to
become a professional in medical sciences.
