We had a bad experience with Bryant, owned by Carrier Corp.  We bought a new Bryant heating and air conditioning system in 2000.  The system was installed and barely used the first summer. In 2001 the system worked fine. In 2002 the system stopped working. The new technology "Puron" refrigerant leaked out of the coil.  Since it was under warranty we called for service. That is where our nightmare started.  Bryant replaced the coil for free, but refused to pay the $350.00 for new Puron and labor. Bryant will not pay for labor and parts required for their warranties. Never will we buy another Carrier product again!

My advice:

Skip Carrier, Bryant and any other United Technologies products. I will do my best to do better research now that I have the computer and will avoid their products like my life depends on it. I have no patience for anyone who does not stand behind their product. In addition, should the fancy ride me enough, I shall install a permanent sign attesting to my dissatisfaction of Carrier etc. onto my house for all to see!!!

United Technologies' email address, please advise if it has been sent...

Factory Fireplaces and Flooring
10 Locust Avenue
Fairmont, WV
Owner: Ron Cole (sp?)

April 2008, we ordered a Jotul F3 CB Woodstove from Factory Fireplaces and Flooring in person at the showroom. We specifically made a date for the install in early May. Come the agreed upon date, Ron Cole et al fails to show up! We called the store and was told that we did not have an appointment! Long story-short answer...Ron admitted the fault and we rescheduled for May 10. Install went well, except we found chips in the ceramic finish and immediately reported the damage for a warranty repair. To date-July 8, Ron has not made the repair nor has he responded to us, the distributor nor the manufacturer. Total Hearth, the distributor, will provide a repair kit. Stay clear. (July 2008)
