H&N Pellet Tests
9/25/09
I finally got to do some pellet testing this AM. Shooting some FTT's in my TX200SR
All shots are from 25 yards, shooting from FT seated position.
The H&N's were definetly tighter in the breech and my SR seems to like the large head Pellet. (When I tried JSB's they seemed small and loose. Some ( newer) Crosman CPL's seemed so small I was afraid they would dribble out of the barrel.
I would say the 4.51 size had the best "feel" while loading, snug...but not too tight.
All grouped pretty well. maybe the 4.51's were " best"?
The pellet photos (below) shows the slight design difference between Beeman FTS and H&N FTT.
I didn't shoot any 50 yarders ( no space in my yard) to see how they fly long distances.
I'll definetly consider the H&N FTT 4.51 if they can assure me the same quality as the sample lots provided.
Anywho....That's my report for now. Make out of it what you can and wish to.
I'll experiment w/ the Baracuda's in my Steyr next week.
RON
Targets 1 , 5, and 9 are shot with my "control" pellets ( Beeman FTS ) head size 4.5?
Targets 2, 6, 10, ( and 14 ) were shot with H&N FTT size 4.51
Target 10 had a shooter induced " flyer" so I shot again on Target 14 as a "do-over"
Targets 3, 7, and 11 were shot with H&N FTT size 4.52
Beeman FTS ( Left) have a more "pointed" dome . H&N FTT ( Right) feature a more
truncated dome shape.
