Chain Drive
Drive components with sprocket welded on bevel gear hub. . The gear on the extension shaft is reversed, flipped so it will not rub on the case.

Before cutting the case.You can see the stock bevel gear still in the case.This case gets oil from a hole in the main engine case feeding an external line going to two places on the outside of the bevel gear case. Arrow shows area to be sealed off.

 

 

Welded in section to keep oil out of chain drive area. Sealed bearings were put into engine case and outer support bearing.
Gear welded to hub spline.
