The Doberman Pinscher Club of America (DPCA) maintains an official directory of people who are active in breeding Dobermans in the United States of America, Canada, and other countries. To locate a Doberman breeder close to you, click on the state in which you are interested. If you are interested in other countries, click on Canada or other countries. DPCA provides this list of breeders as a service to the general public. These breeders (members) are in good standing with the Doberman Pinscher Club of America, but under no circumstances does the DPCA guarantee the services of said member(s) or assume any responsibility or liability regarding any agreements you may enter in with any of the breeders listed.

The Doberman Pinscher Club of America strongly recommends that the following tests be run on all breeding animals -- bitches and dogs prior to breeding:

  • Cardiomyopathy - a Holter monitor EKG or an ultrasound/sonogram done by a veterinary cardiologist
  • Von Willebrands condition via DNA test
  • X-rays for hip and elbow dysplasia, certified by OFA at or after the age of 2 years
  • Blood panels for thyroid by an OFA-certified laboratory
  • Eye exam done by a veterinary ophthalmologist (CERF exam)
