Kaptivate is a 17HH registered Trakehner/Paint gelding, 7 YO this July. Kaptivate is out of Kaspareit. He was bred
to be a dressage competitor.
Kappi, as we call him, spent 1 year at a high stakes dressage barn in Ventura County. Confined to a stall 23 hours a
day, the then 4 YO became over-stimulated with no outlet for his stress. His owner, concerned for his well-being, and
his assistant trainer, also concerned for his health and suitability for the training, knew he needed a different career.
His owner called the Rescue director and asked us to take him in for rehabilitation.
Kaptivate has been at the Rescue for 2.5 YRS. He has become part of the herd, spread his wings and blossomed
under the Rescue's direction. His stress is gone, he is focused, centered and enjoys partnership with his handler. Kaptivate
is ready for a new rider, someone with whom he can bond and have fun.
Kaptivate is very sensitive and gentle. He loves people and bonds very well with a human who is kind and understands
him. He plays at liberty and responds well to reward. He has matured and grown in confidence since being at the
Rescue and becoming a member of a herd. Kappi looks to strong female horses to bond with and feels most secure in their
company.
Anyone can halter and lead him. He has learned to be a very good partner.
He is healthy, sound and loves to canter, his favorite gait.
Kaptivate is available for lease at this time. He requires adequate space to live and exercise, the company of other
horses, and a devoted handler.
