Equine En-Tao-ment Workshop Work with our rescue horses in an atmosphere of peace and meditation at our ranch in Squaw Valley, 35 miles east of Fresno. We have integated three courses to bring you a holistic experience of the horse. Our integrated program includes prey animal and herd behavior, equine bodywork and equine reflective communication (ERC) . Equine First Aid A necessity for all horse owners and handlers. Topics include: learning to take vital signs, shock, allergies, snake bite, colic,choke, hoof abscesses. Use of standard and alternative medical approaches. Includes drugs to keep on hand, first aid kit for barn and trail, use of essential oils, Bach flower remedies, etc to assist in maintaining health and treating specific ailments. Lecture/discussion and hands-on applications. Equine Health: Complementary Modalities Overview of complementary approaches to healthcare for the equine, including massage therapy, stretching, myofascial release, energy work, use of essential oils and other healing modalities. Participants will learn a relaxation massage routine and basic acupressure points, how to do a body scan to elicite areas of interest on their horse. Lecture and discussion, hands-on application Equine Behavior and Communication Topics include: prey animal and herd animal characteristics, body language, training techniques including classical and operant conditioning, natural horsemanship techniques, dominance techniques. Horse whispering demystified., animal communication. Lecture/discussion/video clips, herd observation. Equine Health: Alternatives to Drugs Topics include main stream veterinary medications and drugs and alternatives in nature, herbs, Bach flower remedies, homeopathics. A holistic approach to health and treating specific ailments which includes a discussion of nutrition. |
