Come celebrate IWD with a fundraiser for the people
of Gaza. The Palestinian women speakers are from 3 different eras of recent Palestinian history: a refugee from 1948,
the daughter of refugees from 1948 and a younger woman now at the UW.
Sistah Drum will provide a powerful opening and closing. Refreshments
will be available during the soical from 6:30-7pm as well as during the event.
We are asking a $5-$25 donation, more if you can, less if you can't. All
funds will be sent to the people of Gaza who are still suffering from the siege and attacks by the Israeli government. Gazans
continue to suffer and die from lack of medicine, food and basic supplies as the Israeli government prevents a bulk of outside
aid from arriving to Gaza.
The event is at the Pocaan building ( People of Color Against Aids Network)
at 1609 19th Ave, 1 block south of Madison. Buses 2, 11 and 12.
This event is wheelchair accessible and we ask everyone to refrain from
fragances to make this event availble to more people.
