I am humbled when I think about all the things my mother has done and still is
doing for me. She has always been encouraging, willing to listen and to help, but most important of all, she helped me to
realize all my questions can be and already are answered by the Lord .
I am so abundantly blessed to have a mother who didn’t just talk the talk but walked the walk. I learned early in
my Christian life that my
Christianity was about a personal relationship with the Lord and that it was this relationship that would see me through
my midnight hours. Whether those dark hours meant mourning over the death of a loved one or helping someone to truly know
that you really cared about them and were willing to go out of your way to meet your needs.
I can recall my Mom praying for me by name innumerable times. So often in my travels, I have met ladies who have said that
they had no desire to be like their mother. I’m pleased to say, I only wish my Christian walk, my level of kindness,
faithfulness, patience and self control were more like the example my mother lived before me daily as I was growing up.
One thing that I would love for my children and grandchildren to learn form me is it doesn’t matter what position
your body is in when you are having a conversation with Lord but the position of your heart means everything.
I am so thankful for the many, many, times my mom encouraged me but even more thankful to have been blessed with a Godly
Mom that lived it daily before me.
Thank you Mom! Thank you so very much!
We at Mission Killeen wish each mom and grand mom a Happy Mother’s Day.
