Purse #19 ...... Castle with Lake

This small scenic purse shows a small castle inside a diamond. There is a blue and brown geometric design in the corners with a deep yellow background. A brown border surrounds the design on the bottom and the sides. The 1.5" twisted fringe strands consists of yellow, orange and brown beads. The lining is blue silk with yellow silk French flower trim. The gold toned frame is deeply embossed with a geometric and a leaf design. There is a black stone dangle at the plunger clasp.

Condition: As far as we can tell, except for a few missing beads on the back, this purse is in good condition for a purse of this age

Purse #34 .......Two Sided Scenic
This charming purse is different on each side:
Side one: Three bands;
....Top band: saw tooth blue under this a Greek key band in blue/red
.... Center band: tomb under columned dome building; 2 trees on each side
.... Bottom band: blue beads, saw tooth edge; pink posies
Side two: two bands, although small part of top band showing under frame
.... Middle band: clear beaded background; 3 pink buildings; river; large tree with yellow bird in upper right corner
.... Bottom band: turquoise blue with saw tooth edge; two facing roses

The bottom of this purse is angled at the corners and is worked in very fine, old glass beads with a background of clear beads.

Fringe: 1.25" twisted looped fringe; bands of color: turquoise, green & clear
Lining: very pale green silk with French silk flower pale green trim
Frame: a wide, highly engraved and embossed frame, perhaps sterling?; child figures in center with dragon-like animal on each end; flowers & vines; same on both sides

House with Red & Blue Roof

This small scenic purse is worked with very fine clear beads in the background. There are two houses with trees, and cornucopia rows across the top and bottom. There is also deep blue edging at top and bottom. This purse is the same on both sides. The fringe is of very fine clear twisted beaded strands. The deep, turquoise blue silk lining is edged with authentic, antique metal braiding. The frame Is a narrow silver toned metal, embossed. There is a slight bend in the frame which keeps it from closing completely. The clasp is kiss style with blue glass stones which matches border color. The chain is made up of square links.

Condition: This purse has several small repairs on the body and the frame is slightly warped keeping it from closing completely. Otherwise, to our best knowledge it is in good condition for a purse of this age
