Day 8  Morning Entry

Dear Diary,

I will go in search of golden apples today, oh Diary.  I will keep watch at midnight, and the Unicorn will come and eat my golden apples, and I will rush out with my cape and ask her to make it MAGIC.  Then, I will be a TRUE HERO with a MAGIC, FLYING CAPE!

But, I do not know where to find golden apples.  Faith has a green apple tree, and a red apple tree, too, but she does not have a tree that grows golden apples.  I must, once again, THINK HARD.

I will go to my favourite thinking spot, oh Diary.  My lovely dustbath thinking spot, and I will close my eyes and THINK HARD.

That is all.

Goodbye from Burrito

Day 8  Afternoon Entry

Dear Diary,

I have a PLAN!  A clever plan to MAKE apples GOLD!  I was having a lovely dust bath and I noticed how the soft, nice dust makes my coat go a beautiful grey colour, and that is when I thought of MY WONDERFUL PLAN!

I will colour the green apples golden by shaking yellow pollen from the tasty dandelions on them!

Yes, I, Burrito, thought of this clever, wonderful PLAN!

I will go do it now.

That is all.

Goodbye from Burrito

Day 8  Evening Entry

Dear Diary,

I have laid the trap, oh Diary!  A lovely nest of dandelion-golden apples!  Tonight I must stay awake and peek through the window.  At midnight, the Unicorn will fly down and eat my golden apples!  I will rush out and ask her to make my cape magic!

That is all.

Goodbye from Burrito

Day 9

Dear Diary,

It is very hard for donkeys to stay awake until midnight.  When donkeys lie down on nice, warm straw beds, they almost always fall asleep.

Oh, Diary, when I woke up this morning, it was a beautiful morning and Sunny was already outside grazing.  I went out to check my Unicorn trap, and, sure enough, ALL the dandelion-gold apples were GONE!  The Unicorn must have come at midnight, and I missed her!

Tonight I will try again.  I have made another trap of dandelion-gold apples and this time two of the young roosters have offered to stay with me and wake me up at midnight.  They will crow quietly in my ear when they see the Unicorn!  Then, I will rush out with my lovely cape and ask the Unicorn to make it MAGIC!  Then, I will be a TRUE HERO who can FLY.

That is all.

Goodbye from Burrito

Day 10

Dear Diary,

Chickens have an even harder time staying awake than do donkeys.

I will have to THINK HARD and make a NEW PLAN.

That is all.

Goodbye from Burrito
