Tennessee Fainting Goats:
Myotonic, wooden leg, nervous goat, tennessee fainting goats.Whatever name you prefer, all refer to this one breed of remarkable
goat! The first notable difference, when startled, excited or fleeing,is their odd stiff -legged gait,or lack of it if
they faint! The faint does not hurt them, nor have they truely fainted, this is a muscular, not a neurological affliction, caused
by a combination of recessive genes. Within a short time they will pop up and shake it off as if they never fainted! This
Myotonic condition has it's added benefits! They don't challenge the fences, nor are they good climbers. This makes them easier
to handle then other breeds of goats. They are very kid friendly, very affectionate and enjoy being pets!If you are looking
for a great first 4H project, fainters would be a great place to start!
We raise both short and medium length coats, with colors from the brightest of whites to multi-colored.From solid to large
spotted.
