About 25 years ago, more or less, I was introduced to D&D. At the time
I wasn't impressed, I was more interested in wargames, but I played anyway. Over the years I played role-playing games
in other settings, such as science fiction using role-playing rules designed for the genre. Also, my interested shifted
from wargames to roleplaying.
Then I bought a copy of GURPS first edition rules. I was hooked. Since Third Edition came out, I bought
a LOT of supplements. Needless to say, I am a big fan of GURPS and I am happy to see it get some acceptance in the hobby.
My favorite RPG settings are SciFi and Historical. I played fantasy role-playing. I am working on a gameworld (see below
for the link). I favor cinematic over realistic games.
GURPS stands for Generic Universal Role Playing System.
It is published by Steve Jackson Games headquartered in Austin, Texas.
