Genesis Chapters 11-50
Nomadic tent pitched under
Abraham's "sky of promise"
recalls the promise made to Abram: "Your descendants will be as
numerous as the stars in the sky..." How true this has become as
devout, Jews, Muslims and Christians in the billions see him as the
common Father of
the Faith.
Our icon for this
period is an ancient hieroglyph found in an Egyptian tomb. It
depicts semitic people (possibly Israelites) coming to Egypt with their
flocks and goods.
