The Holy Land Democracy Project Response (100 points) 

The Holy Land Democracy Project Contest
Spring 2008

Write an essay* (2-page limit) on any of the following four topics:
100 Points possible  Due Date:  Monday April 28th (ACEG)  April 29th Tues (BDF)
 
1.      Use your imagination to explore some of different meanings of The Many  "Faces" of Israel.
2.      What have you have learned about Israel's commitment to democracy and  democratic values?
3.     Discuss the deep and historic connection of the Jewish people to the land of Israel.
4.     How has this project changed your understanding of the Middle East?
 
*You may create a project on any of the above-listed topics using the medium of your choice, e.g. poetry, sculpture, video, music, watercolor, or other media permitted by your teacher.  However,  whatever you do MUST reflect one of the four themes above.

Prizes and Rules
 
Contest Winners will be judged by the quality of work done and the clarity of presentation.
Prizes for the contest are interest-bearing bonds issued by the State of Israel.  The top prize is a bond worth $1,000.  Multiple second prize ($300) and third prize ($200) bonds will also be awarded.
