July 2008
I
desire to continue my service as the Ward 5 representative to the Millbrook
City Council. I have served
in this position for the past eight years, and I take pride in the progress
that we have made in many areas of city services. We have modernized the equipment in all city departments,
especially the fire and police departments, and our parks and meeting
facilities are the best in the county. By working together we, Mayor Kelley and
the entire council, have been successful in attracting quality businesses while
controlling residential growth to enable the continuation of increased property
values as well as an unsurpassed quality of life for our residents. The expansion of our parks and the addition
of meeting facilities to support our community are obvious at our Sports
Complexes, Robinson Springs Park, Legacy Park, Memorial Center, and the
Millbrook Civic Center. As a result of
these efforts and the support of our residents we were awarded the Alabama
Community of Excellence designation in 2007.
I have maintained my personal qualifications to serve as
your representative to city government by continuing my professional status as
an Advanced Certified Municipal Official, and listening to your emails,
telephone calls, and personal contacts to include many of your community
meetings.
As the saying goes weve come a long way! but we still
have more to do and I want to be a part of our continued improvement by serving
as your representative to the Millbrook City Council. If our residents elect to allow me to remain as their
representative, I will continue to serve our community honestly, openly, and
fairly. I will continue to work with
the mayor and city council, county commission, and the Alabama Department of
Transportation to improve traffic congestion throughout our city, improve the
citys infrastructure, and modernize our equipment. I will continue to support our library, parks and recreation
expansion, and public safety issues to improve the quality of life for our residents.
I will work with the mayor and city council to continue our efforts to attract
quality retail and service-oriented businesses and enhance the employment
opportunities for our residents. I will
always be available to listen to our residents and discuss their concerns with
our city agencies and other elected officials.
I ask for your support
during the campaign and
your vote on August 26th
at Legacy Park.
