FRIENDS OF WASHINGTON PARK

Friends of Washington Park is a neighborhood organization that supports and champions Pasadena's historic Washington Park.

Located at the corner of Washington Boulevard and El Molino Avenue, Washington Park was designed in the early 1920's by Landscape Designers Theodore Payne and Ralph Cornell on the site of a natural storm channel. Its physical charms are in its well-thought-out plan showcasing mature trees, river rock walls, benches, and the rustic bridge that spans its arroyo.

Stone bridge in Washington Bridge Friends of Washington Park was formed in 1992 to help the park take and keep its rightful place at the heart of the community. For its successful grassroots organizing in support of the park, the Friends were given the 1993 Neighborhood of the Year Award by Neighborhoods USA.
