"THE ENTIRE REYNOLDS FAMILY WAS RAISED IN CHURCH . . ."
My parents were converted in the early days of Sister McPherson’s ministry in Angelus Temple. Upon losing their 10-year-old
son, they were seeking solace and help; they heard Sister McPherson on the radio which drew them to attend Angelus Temple.
The entire Reynolds family was raised in church. At the age of 12, I was saved and baptized in the Gardena Foursquare Church.
My brother, Dale, entered LIFE Bible College and later became a Foursquare Minister.
Having started playing the piano at age 7 and later taking lessons when I was 10, I began to play at the Gardena Foursquare
Church. My future on the organ was greatly influenced as I listened to Esther Fricke Stewart on the Temple Kimball Organ.
My first professional church job was as organist/director in the First Baptist Church of Gardena. Upon completion of Military
duties with the U.S. Navy in 1947, I became organist at the Goodyear Foursquare Church.
After graduating from USC in 1950 with a Major in Organ and Church Music, I accepted the call to become organist at Angelus
Temple. During this eight-year term, I also played a weekly Sunday evening program over radio station KFSG and produced the
only recording of the Kimball Organ which is currently available on CD. Following my time at Angelus Temple, I continued
with my Music Teaching Profession in the South Bay area as well as Minister of Music in various churches (truly an ecumenical
experience to present day.) In addition to this change, I married my wife, Kathryn, of 45 years and we have a son, Todd,
who is a professional violinist.
I owe my firm faith to my parent's involvement in church and their spiritual nurturing throughout my early life. At one
time I felt a call to the ministry but having been trained in music for so many years, God's direction seemed to be for me
use my Music as a ministry--this proved to be the right direction as I taught music in high school for 32 years.
The strongest revelation of God's power in my life came about after having my brother pray over an anointed cloth which I
carried with me until 2 weeks from that day I received my permanent position in music for 30 years at the high school level
and added unto it the same day my introduction to my future wife.
