Sandy
I'm sad to announce that Sandy left us Monday, October 19, 2009, to be with her friends in horse heaven. While her body remained
here for us to mourn over, her soul took wings and continued on the journey that God has planned for her. She is in a far
better place now, free of the aches and pains of old age and and free of the agony of the twisted intestine that took her
from us.
I want to thank everyone who helped to rescue Sandy, especially Jen who was with her for her short time with us. It was Jen
who laughed at her antics and also had the opportunity to get to know and see a tiny bit of the fiesty old lady that lived
in the old worn out body. Thank you so much Jen!!!
Rohna, her constant companion, stayed with her to the end. She called to her, worried while Sandy was sick and when Sandy's
ordeal was finally over, Rohna nickered a final good bye and moved away. She seemed to be saying to anyone who was listening
to her, in the secret language of animals, that it was ok to leave. She understood.

Mickie
Mickie was our latest addition to the farm.
Mick was born October 6th, 2006 and was eight months old in the photo on the right. Don't be deceived...he looks handsome
and dignified but he was really a complete goof. I happened to catch him in a brief quiet moment.
Mickie was half Australian Shepherd (his dad was an AKC Champion) and half German Shepherd (mom was show lines). Dad chewed
through two chain link fences to have a romantic meeting with mom and the result was ten pups. All the pups were adopted through
Broome-Tioga BOCES (on spay/neuter contracts of course) and Mickie got to come to the farm. He was everything we were hoping
for...big, friendly with all the critters and protective of the farm.
Tragically, Mickie was killed in an accident on August 14th, 2007. He will be
forever remembered and missed.

Vanna
Vanna arrived in the dark of night. In other words, she just appeared one day at the barn.
We suspect that she was dumped from a van that we saw the day before....hence the name Vanna. She was a little fluffy grey
cat that was afraid of her own shadow. We tried catching her for almost two years and this spring we were finally successful.
She was huge with a litter of soon to be born kittens. Once caught and settled in a cage to have her babies she quickly gained
confidence and became quite social.
Right after her kittens were born we noticed that she seemed to be having some breathing problems. An emergency trip to the
veterinarian, oxygen and lots of meds got her past the crisis and we hoped that all would be welll with Vanna and her babies.
For four weeks all went well. Vanna was the best mom and her babies grew into little fur balls. Then, just when we started
to really think all would be well, Vanna had a relapse of her breathing problems. This time the vet put her under anesthesia
and looked down her throat....and found a huge tumor that was in the exact place that it could not be operated on. With many
tears we held Vanna as her body went limp and her spirit flew to heaven. She leaves behind four of the cutest kittens in the
world. They spend their days playing and purring and cuddling with the humans here at the farm. They desparately want their
own families.
This is a picture of Vanna about a month before we had to put her to sleep

Loopie
Propwash Loop The Loop, HCT "Loopie". Loopie was our foundation bitch and produced champions and her children produced champions
but to us, that was secondary to the fact that she was our friend and family member. She helped in the barn, guarded the
house, cleaned off baby goats and cuddled orphan kittens. And then there was the Christmas night she alerted us to a house
fire and saved us and the house from a horrible disaster. Loopie is one of those great dogs that comes along once in a lifetime.
We miss her and will look forward to finding her in heaven when we take that last trip from this earth.

Piper
Click on the image to the right to read about Piper, a Holstein calf who, although she was with us for only a brief period,
left a permanent mark on our hearts.
Sometime at night, when you gaze at the moon, think of Piper when you say:
Hey diddle diddle, the cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon....

Gabe
AKC Ch. Lejo's Lachesis of Gemini "Gabe" is a 12 year old powderpuff Chinese Crested that my husband spotted in an exercise
pen at a dog show in Williamsport, PA. He knew I wanted another Chinese Crested and Gabe came to live with us. Once he finished
his championship he got a haircut and became one of the house dogs. He is showing his age now and going deaf but he still
bounces and loves a car ride.
Gabe was put to sleep in July of 2008

Red Tinker
Red Tinker had been with us for over two years and we now have his second foal crop on the ground. All are sold. Tinker
was shown once when he was ten and went Grand Champion. He was a very correct little guy with a lovely head, nice movement
and a very sweet temperament.
Tinker is now gone. He finally had to be euthanized last year because of complications of diabetes but he lives on through
his daughters Hanna and Sparrow. He was a great little guy and we miss him a lot
