"You're never too old to love!"

Golden Threads is a contact publication for lesbians, published 4 times a year in March, June, September and December.  It is a world wide network, founded in 1985 by Christine Burton, because she was refused membership in a pen pal network due to being told she as too old at 50.  She vowed that one day, she would create something for the older and mid-life lesbian, to end loneliness and isolation, and that no one would be denied membership due to their age.  There have been members as young as 19 and boasted the oldest living lesbian in the United States, Ruth Ellis, who was a lifetime member until the age of 101.  Sadly, she passed away 5 October 2000!!!   Any lesbian age 85 or over, need only send a photo copy of her birth certificate, or her driver's license and membership in Golden Threads is free for life.

Golden Threads creates and produces a Celebration in Provincetown, MA at the end of every June and it is a joyful meeting of wimmin from all over the world where they can be free to be who they are.  Without fear of abuse, harassment or intimidation.

There are workshops and activities.  There is entertainment and a banquet.  Independent activities such as hikes, whale watches and shopping in those wonderful lesbian shops that are abundant in what is affectionately known as P'town.  The next Celebration will be held 21-24 June 2007.  For further information, and the required registration forms send your mailing address to Golden Threads Celebration, at the address below.
