"You're never too old to love!"
Golden Threads is a contact publication for lesbians, published 4 times a year in March, June, September and December. It is a world wide network, founded in 1985 by Christine Burton, because she was refused membership in a pen pal network due to her ancient age of 50. She vowed that one day, she would create something for the older and mid-life lesbian, to end loneliness and isolation, and that no one would be denied membership due to their age. There have been members as young as 19 and boasted the oldest living lesbian in the United States, Ruth Ellis, who was a lifetime member at the age of 101. Sadly, she passed away 5 October 2000!!! Any lesbian age 85 or over, need only send a photo copy of her birth certificate, and membership in Golden Threads is free for life.
Golden Threads gives prompt service for both inquiries and forwarding of letters for members. A letter to be forwarded never stays in the house more than 24 hours unless it is on a weekend when there is no mail service.
Golden Threads is now the ONLY lesbian contact publication in the U S A.
The Celebration has been cancelled until further notice.
