Hmmmm, well, I do tire of those that have narrowed religion down to the point of allowing no dissension and throwing up a flawed and battered relic of times past as the authority for their abominable utterances challenging you to prove, with their choice of authority, your statements.
That is like the use of Napoleonic Law in Japan. If you are involved in a crime in any way, you are guilty by virtue of your existence. Had you not existed, the crime would not have occurred. Very hard to defend against this.
By the same token, Ralph uses the King James version of the bible to support his every utterance, and takes great license with its interpretation.
Then he challenges you to defend yourself against this document that has changed and flowed and been flawed by the egos of men down through the ages.
All religion seeks dominance of your spirit here on earth. Your tithes, your obeisance, your adherence to their interpretation of what is good for you.
Needless to say, if you stray from their grip, their literature will be replete with castigation, and judgment on you. That is the whole purpose of the document in the first place.
It was pieced together from the available pool of material and molded by each group into what they wanted to use to control and maintain their power base.
Look at Christianity. Everyone has their own interpretation of what is right and what is wrong.
Then look at Ralph. He professes to be part of a "bible believing" "church." So all he is doing, is saying, I will take this mishmash of doctrine, letters, chapters, all which were carefully picked over and reworded to fit the desires of the early churches, and I will use this as the sole guidance for my life and yours.
What is wrong with this picture? It is illogical, and being so, you will find him very adamant about its being right. You will find him being judgmental and abusive. You will find him being a mocker and a scoffer of all religions. What utter nonsense. His blathering has become so commonplace that we begin to accept his stupidity as reality.
You will find him at the edge of lunacy. Look at his writings. Listen with your heart, not your eyes and brain. What do you feel? Fear, hatred, gloating smugness, terror, bigotry, and desire for dominion over his fellow man. Why is his following so small? He is flawed!
Then read what little of Jesus' words you can winnow out of the extant material and see if it is in consonance with this feeling.
No, you will find yourself at loggerheads with this test's results.
I am satisfied, (even with the constant threat that Ralph bandies about) that I have perceived the intent and spirit of Jesus in his words. Out of space, but more will come from time to time.
